Most kids pray for a white Christmas, but last Sunday Lewis and I prayed for a white Thanksgiving. Monday, I got a call saying that school was going to be 2 hours late. I guess I was happy about that, since it meant 30 minute class periods and no seminary. During 1st period it was snowing like crazy and the snow was sticking to the roads. At the beginning of lunch there was talk of going home early. The office was lined up with parents waiting to take their kids home. High schoolers who owned cars got to drive home. At the start of 4th period, my Spanish teacher was getting angered with all the questions about going home and gave us a lecture about how it wasn't going to happen. At 10:55 my principal went on the announcements and said that he was going to ring a bell at 11:00, dismissing us for the day. So basically, my Spanish teacher felt like an idiot and said hasta manana. That "hasta manana" didn't really happen because Tuesday and Wednesday there wasn't school either, giving us a 6 1/2 day break.
I guess the title "A White Thanksgiving" is kinda misleading. There was snow, but it started melting in the morning. It was basically your normal Thanksgiving, family, food, football. We also saw the 7th Harry Potter, me for the second time. It was good, a tad awkward, but good. I also had Thanksgiving at my moms house. It was awkward because there were a bunch of 20 year old Asian people that I basically tried to avoid the whole day. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I don't have a lot in common with them, besides being Taiwanese. I guess it wasn't that bad, the food was good (Dads was better and I'm not just saying that) and I got to play games. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

I have to say, I am sure excited to have a green Christmas and NO snow when we go to California to visit. White Christmases are overrated in my book. I am glad you had a good Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteWe had a nice Thanksgiving, but we are REALLY looking forward to Christmas! Bring on the Washington Larsens!
ReplyDeleteHow great was it to look at your teacher and say, "Hasta!" after being lectured. I bet it was a great feeling! (Not that sticking it to a teacher is always the greatest thing to do...especially if it is your father!)
Hooray for lots of days off! Our boys had the entire week. It was really nice!
Grandma and Grandpa are back from Cabo! We left yesterday afternoon, Dec, 5th, and it was about 85 degrees. When we got to San Francisco, we had to circle the airport for over a half an hour before we could even land because of the rain. Anyway, snow is great when you don't get it very often. I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving--TWICE! Love you Rozi, Grandma
